Knowledge Base & Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does AI video transcription and summary generation work in VidScribe?

VidScribe processes video and audio recordings through multimodal (AI technology that simultaneously understands and processes text, audio, video, and visual media) AI models (including advanced speech recognition and reasoning neural networks). It first performs acoustic speech recognition to produce verbatim timestamped transcripts, followed by structured multi-stage reasoning to generate executive summaries, structured topic breakdowns, key action items with assignees, verbatim quotes, and domain glossaries.

Q: How do I contact VidScribe AI customer support?

You can contact VidScribe AI support directly via email at support@vidscribe.ai or support@vidscribe.com. Our dedicated customer support team responds to technical issues, billing questions, and workspace setup inquiries within 24 business hours.

Q: Who can benefit the most from using VidScribe?

VidScribe saves massive amounts of time by summarizing long-form videos and audio. It is perfectly tailored for students, academic researchers, content creators, podcasters, business professionals, coaches, and anyone looking to process long-form media into structured knowledge quickly.

Q: What video and audio formats or URLs are supported?

You can transcribe YouTube video links, direct video URLs (MP4/WebM/M3U8), or upload local files including MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, OGG, and FLAC. In addition, our client-side audio compressor automatically downsamples high-bitrate audio in real-time, allowing files up to 2–3 hours to process smoothly.

Q: How do I customize or re-synthesize summary styles and languages?

When processing a new recording, you can select your preferred Summary Template under "Summary Template & Options" in the input panel. For any existing transcript in your workspace, click "Re-Synthesize Summary" (or use the Summary Template selector). You can choose from specialized Summary Templates—including Comprehensive Notes, Meeting Minutes, Executive 1-Pager, Academic Lecture, Podcast Show Notes, Study Guide & Active Recall, Sales Discovery, Research Report, and Interview Q&A—and translate or re-synthesize notes into over 15 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, and Hindi.

Q: Is VidScribe available in European Union (EU) countries?

No. VidScribe is currently not available to users, organizations, or IP addresses located in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA). Due to regional regulatory compliance, data sovereignty policies, and operational restrictions, the app, its transcription services, and subscription checkouts cannot be accessed or used within EU member states.

Q: How do 1-Click Retry Processing and Credit Protection work for failed jobs?

If a video transcription attempt fails due to a network drop or temporary server error, you can click "Retry Processing" directly from the error modal or status banner. VidScribe re-runs the job automatically without requiring you to re-upload your file or re-paste your URL. Additionally, failed transcriptions never consume your account credits.

Q: How do Queue Position tracking and Job Cancellation work?

When processing large video files or submitting multiple transcripts in high-volume queues, real-time queue position indicators show your exact status and estimated remaining time. If you launch a job by mistake, you can click "Cancel Processing" in the progress bar to immediately stop the job before credits or GPU usage are consumed.

Q: Can I cancel my subscription? What is your refund policy?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile settings. If you cancel a monthly plan during the month, access continues to the end of your current billing period. There is no refund. If you cancel an annual plan, access continues through the subscription anniversary (for example, if you signed up for an annual plan on January 15th and then canceled on January 30th, your subscription remains active through February 15th). A prorated refund for unused full months is usually issued within 5 business days. A full refund is issued when there are erroneous charges, usually within five business days upon verification.

Your account usage is based on video transcriptions across your chosen plan tier: Free Plan includes 5 video transcriptions per month, Pro Plan includes 100 video transcriptions per month, Team Plan includes 250 video transcriptions per month, and Power Plan includes 600 video transcriptions per month. Each completed video or audio transcription consumes one credit. Failed or cancelled jobs never consume credits.
